This mighty Goddess has been blessing the villagers of Kandrakota by staying in Kandrakota village which is 11kms from Peddapuram town.
Temple history:
Thousands of years ago the land which was situated on east side of River Godavari , ruled by a cruel king "KIMMERA". The people of his kingdom requested another king "DHARMA KETHU" to save them from "KIMMERA". UnfortunatelyDHARMA KETHU was defeated by KIMMERA with the help of devil power. Then Dharma Kethu worshiped AADI PARASAKTHI. Aadi Para sakthi had been pleased with the worship ness of Dharma Kethu and sent her AMSA along with him. This time Dharma Kethu won the battle against the cruel Kimmera with the help of Aadi Parasara sakthi. This parasara sakthi is known as NOOKALAMMA. To show respect to the great help , King Dharama Kethu built a temple in Kandrakota, where we are seeing the present temple.

From that time, every year 41 days celebrations/ jatara has been conducting by the villagers with great respect and belief. The celebration starts by PALGUNA MAASA BAHULA CHATURDASI and ends after 41 days.
